This album has been a long work in progress and is finally being released in 2025 on the 10th anniversary of the Minneapolis premiere of the first performance of the musical in 2015. Most of these songs were recorded in their earliest form during 2009-2012, with added recorded elements in the years to follow. The final recordings were made in 2024 and 2025 and mixing and mastering was completed in 2025.
About the Musical:
An Evening with Krampus is an alternative holiday musical comedy about the story of Krampus, an ancient demon of Austrian and Germanic lore that emerges every December 5th (Krampusnacht) to punish bad children and provide terror to all. The musical is a celebration of Krampus told through a narrative involving a horribly behaved child named Timmy, Timmy’s mom, an escaped child, a psychotic neighbor, Krampus the demon, and Noel, his faithful assistant that only sings and never speaks. All of these songs can be enjoyed as “Krampus carols” without knowing the story of the musical, as long as one has the Krampus spirit.
